Change. I think that one of the hardest things in life is when we transition from one phase of our life to another - some might call it chapters in our life story. When we get to the end of one chapter, it is time to start writing the next chapter, and change can be tough for a lot of us. Any time we leave what is comfortable and step into the unknown, it can be scary.
One of the most common things I hear from my clients is their frustration and disappointment with themselves when they “cheat” on their new weight loss program. Although it is unrealistic for any of us to expect perfection, we all do. We all think we can and should be “good” all of the time. We are harder on ourselves than we would ever be to a friend or family member. So why do we get so frustrated with ourselves when we realize we aren’t perfect?
